It is not uncommon for advisory clients to switch RIAs or decide to self manage their investments. We offer easy offboarding for either process.
If a client decides to switch to a new RIA, the client must fill out an Investor Maintenance Form with the information of the new Firm and advisor. Investor access is then revoked from the original Firm/ advisor, with new Investor Portal access granted to the new Firm/advisor.
If a client decides to self manage, the advisor must notify Opto’s investment operations team in writing of the update and date in which the relationship will be terminated. Advisor access is revoked for that specific investor.
The client then becomes a direct LP of the Fund and gains Investor Portal access (if not already active), in addition to an email from Opto confirming this update and laying out LP responsibilities and expectations.
